Safdar Quereshi

Safdar Qureshi has taken his practise out of the the miniature studio for this exhibition. Quereshi is a graduate of the National College of Arts, with a specialization in miniature paintings. His hallmarks are still present, such as his detailed drawing and rendering which have emanated from the miniature technique as well as his earlier stint as a tailoring assistanct. He is as comfortable with the needle and the thread as he is with the fine squirel haired brush he uses on the wasli. The introduction of this earlier skill to his art practice takes Safdar away from the miniature tradition and into the realm artists who are adept at bringing other elements to their art practice.
